Gather together in community to explore the resonance of the inner voice. This is an opportunity to discover the effect of the pure sound vibrations of Sanskrit chants and mantras on our bodies and souls. These melodies were originally developed in the ‘bhakti’ culture of the sub-continent. This tradition believes it is the deep draw of Universal Beauty that is the ‘honey’ in our makeup as people, and that music is a way of connecting to its sweetness. Kirtan is a call and response musical meditation that is very simple in its shape. It is non-denominational and requires no expertise at singing. It is an immersive experience that opens us to being full of joy. Come and be part of this. Derek leads the Kirtan with voice and harmonium. He was trained in the art by Nikki Slade.
