Meditation

You suppose you are the trouble
But you are the cure
You suppose you are the lock on the door
But you are the key that opens it
It's too bad that you want to be someone else
You don't see your own face, your own beauty
Yet, no face is more beautiful than yours.

Rumi

There is no one definition of what meditation is since it describes a personal unfolding rather than a defined goal. The practice sets aside time to pay attention to the human journey that we all take, drawing inspiration from the deepest source.  We spend time at being more open to our own potential and the more we practice, it seems the more valuable the practice becomes.

Deep Peace. Meditation for Modern Times.

A four-week course.

What is it like to explore the deep source of peace, which is available to us all? What is it like to feel this inspiration and contentment alive in our flesh and bones?

Meditation is really a very simple practice. We set the time aside to listen with attention and curiousity to the riches that are already present within us. We might imagine that meditation transforms us into a better version of ourselves, but this is the contrary of what happens. This beautiful practice assists the way we experience who we already are, which is fundamentally grounded in the profound authenticity of our own nature. The simplicity is in opening to a peaceful spaciousness, which receives with kindness whatever arises within us, whether joy or sorrow.

This friendly course offers guidance in some of the fundamentals of a meditation practice, such as the way in which we can easily feel connection through our own breath. But it is not about any particular style or method of meditation. It is offered so that we can sit with the support of a group to feel inspired by what we discover. There is encouragement during the course to establish a personal practice at home, with all its benefits.

People attending should feel confident that there is advice at hand to help anyone sit in comfort, so that we can concentrate on what is important in meditation. The course is suitable both for complete beginners and is an opportunity for the more experienced to deepen their practice. There will also be the opportunity for interaction so that people can share what is alive for them.

This is happening at the Yoga Venue on the following days, October 19th, November 2nd, 9th and 16th between 1.15pm and 3.30pm. Booking with the YOGA VENUE
